SWC Reads: As You Wish

IMG_4048.jpeg

The Princess Bride is probably one of the most quotable movies of all time (at least in my family). I still remember the first time I watched it, and all these years later I can now quote every line. Though, in all fairness, that’s pretty common for the cult classic.

Anyone who loves The Princess Bride is going to love As You Wish: Inconceivable Tales From the Making of Princess Bride by Cary Elwes. and Joe Layden. You get to follow Elwes through the process of making the film and all the trials and triumphs he and the cast experienced along the way. They even add their own stories to the mix! I especially loved the audio version where he brought everyone in to tell the stories, too. Hearing Robin Wright, Rob Reiner, Mandy Patinkin, and Billy Crystal telling their versions of stories along with the stories that Elwes fills the pages with makes it that much more special!

This is definitely the kind of book I devour in a single sitting and then go back to again for more!
