SWC Reads: The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany
The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany is the sisterhood road trip story the world needs right now. Especially when we can’t hop a plane from JFK to Roma ourselves. The story follows three women in a very large, and very involved, Italian American family that has been suffering a supposed curse on the second born daughters for over 200 years, and the various ways the modern day second daughters have opted to deal with said curse. Told in both the modern day and flashing back several decades, the story follows the journey three of the second daughters take to their homeland of Tuscany as well as flashing back to the past when their octogenarian aunt lived in Italy as a young woman before immigrating to America. This story winds around your heart and pulls you into the pages as the women attempt to find what they’re looking for, even when they don’t quite know what it might be they actually want.
