Holiday High Tea

The Georgian Room at Seattle’s Fairmont Olympic Hotel is world famous for their Holiday High Tea. With cathedral ceilings, crown moldings, and bay windows looking out on the heart of down town Seattle the room looks like something right out of a fairytale. And the food is just as tasty as the room is stunning.

We started off with our tea selection, I highly recommend 1907 Orange Pekoe which is created specifically for the Fairmont. After the arrival of our champagne and sparkling water, we began.

The Holiday High Tea begins with the delivery of vanilla bean panna cotta and candied berries under a glass bell.

We then dove into cranberry and white chocolate scones with clotted cream and marmalade. Petite cones of caviar and truffle creme delighted the adults and throughly disappointed the three-year-old who had refused to believe us when we told him it was definitely not a mini ice cream cone with chocolate chips on top. Then, starting at the bottom, we worked our way up the tower of traditional tea time delicacies.

Cucumber sandwiches, crab cake open face sandwiches, smoked salmon, cake pops, chocolate mousse, marzipan cakes, and peppermint bark were just some of the utterly divine treats we were served during the tea.

I can’t recommend Fairmont’s Holiday High Tea enough! I’ll be making it a new holiday tradition for sure!
