Disney World Travel Diary
Few things are better than winning and when I heard I’d won a trip to Disney World (thanks Pro Club) I was beyond thrilled!
Disney brings immense amounts of joy to my child-like heart and I was truly living my best life the week I spent there! My travel buddy and I would spend a majority of each day together then split off later in the afternoons before meeting up again for dinner. Thankfully we had Disney’s Photopass so we could still get tons of fun photos with characters and attractions thanks to all the wonderful photographers Disney World has placed ALL OVER their parks! I wasn’t about to miss out on photos with all the princess just because my friend didn’t want to wait in line to take my photo (totally understandable). Plus the photos were high quality so I felt completely justified in paying for the Photopass!
Being as food centric as I am I made sure we booked reservations to all the tastiest spots. We treated ourselves to Monsieur Paul, Be Our Guest, Morocco, and California Grill. Plenty of stops were also made during the days for Dole Whips, Mickey Pretzels, Popcorn, Churros, and of course, Mickey Waffles! Did I eat like a six-year-old unleashed at a birthday party (with an admittedly well developed palate)? Possibly. Am I paying for it on the stepmill? You betcha. Was it worth it? Absolutely!
For those of you staying at a Disney World Resort (we stayed at Coronado Springs Resort) you have the opportunity to book your dining reservations 180 days in advance and I highly recommend you do! It’s the best way to make sure you get the places you want at the times you want and their My Disney Experience trip planning app makes it super easy! The My Disney Experience app is also where you can book your Disney Fastpasses, check on your reservations, find maps of the parks with wait times for rides and characters, and download all your Photopass pictures straight to your phone! Serious game changer, friends!
Disney has all sorts of ways of getting around the parks at Walt Disney World, the buses, the monorail, and boats! But my new favorite was the Disney partnership with Lyft, the Minnie Vans! It was perfect for getting from one resort to another instead of having to go indirectly through one of the parks.
Did it rain while we were there? Yes, but this Seattlite wasn’t a bit bothered! The rain was warm and only happened in spurts, not a whole day deluge so we didn’t let it drown out our fun in the least! But I’d say our six days at Disney were 90% rain free. But Disney brings the magic rain or shine so don’t let a gloomy forecast for your trip get you down! Just pack a poncho and call it good. We did not bring ponchos ourselves but EVERYONE else certainly did! It was a whole phenomenon.
What I did bring was enough clothes for three outfit changes each day ‘cause the humidity was REAL y’all. Not to mention there are some rides where you want to be dry after and that just isn’t an option (lookin at you Kalia River Rapids and Splash Mountain). I also wanted to dress up a little for dinner each night. This means my photos from the trip look like I was on vacation for weeks instead of only six days. Not mad at it. In fact, I’m already looking forward to my next Walt Disney World visit!
Have you been to Walt Disney World? Which is your favorite snack? Mine is definitely the Mickey Pretzel!
