Wine and Sunshine

Summer in Seattle is its own kind of magic (but shhh it’s a secret). We may be known for our rainy days but we revel in our summer days like it’s an Olympic sport and we’re defending the gold title. Everyone gets outside and my friends and I are no exception. We treated ourselves to an afternoon of wine tasting at two of the largest wineries in town. Wineries that happen to be across the street to each other (lucky for us).

Chateau Ste Michelle is known not only for their wine but also for their Summer Concert Series. An afternoon event where you can picnic out on the lawn, listen to your favorite artists, and enjoy some of the choicest local wines.

We started our afternoon in one of their tasting rooms with a flight of five. Skipped the concert in favor of traipsing across the street to Columbia Winery (owned by the same people as Chateau Ste Michelle) for one of their delectable cheese boards and a glass of their rose.

All in all, an afternoon very well spent.

Is there anything better than a crisp glass of rose in the summer? What’s your summer go-to drink?

Kate
